Core Aeration & Overseeding

$220.00

Description

Spring and fall are the most important times to strengthen and rebuild your lawn. In the spring, aeration and overseeding help open compacted soil and introduce new seed before summer stress arrives. This prepares your turf to handle heat, foot traffic, and drought more effectively. Once fall arrives, the cooler temperatures make it the ideal time to repair thin or damaged areas and promote deep root development before winter. By treating your lawn during these key seasons, you create thicker, healthier turf year-round.

FAQs

Do I need to prepare the lawn before you arrive?

Yes — please remove toys, hoses, decorations, and any obstacles from the yard. This allows us to aerate the entire lawn safely. We are not responsible for damage to items left on the turf. Also, please make sure gates are unlocked so our equipment can access all areas.

Do I need to water after aeration and overseeding?

Yes — watering is crucial. Lightly water the lawn once or twice a day for the first 10–14 days to keep the seed consistently moist. After the seed germinates, you can switch to deeper, less frequent watering.

How long does it take to see results?

New seed typically begins to germinate in 7–14 days, depending on temperature and watering. Full results continue to develop over the next 4–8 weeks as the new grass fills in.

Can I mow after overseeding?

Yes — but wait 10–14 days or until the new grass is at least 3–4 inches tall. When you do mow, keep the mower on a higher cutting setting and avoid sharp turns that can damage new seedlings.

Is aeration messy? What happens to the soil plugs?

Soil plugs will remain on the lawn after aeration — this is normal. They break down naturally in 1–2 weeks and return nutrients back into the soil. You don’t need to rake or remove them.

Can you aerate if the ground is dry or hard?

Core aeration works best when the soil has some moisture. If conditions are extremely dry, we may recommend watering the day before service to ensure proper plug removal.

Will overseeding fix bare or dead patches?

Yes — aeration creates openings for new seed to establish, which helps fill in thin or bare areas. Severe dead spots may require additional soil or topdressing for best results, and we can advise you during the visit.

Do you use premium seed?

Absolutely — we use high-quality turf-type seed blends designed for strong germination, disease resistance, and rich color. This ensures the best results for your property.

How long should I stay off the lawn after the service?

Try to limit foot traffic for 7–10 days while new seed establishes. Pets and heavy activity should be avoided as much as possible during this period.

What exactly does the aeration and overseeding service include?

Our service includes core aeration of the entire lawn to relieve compaction and open channels for air, water, and nutrients. We then apply premium seed across the property to encourage new growth, fill in thin areas, and improve turf density. The soil plugs are left on the lawn to naturally break down and return nutrients back into the soil.
